Aptive HTG Wins Veterans Health Administration Contract to Support Policy Transformation Efforts

Posted on 12.15.20

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) awarded Aptive HTG a contract to help transform policy management across the VHA enterprise and align local policies and processes with those at the national level.

The one-year award with four option years runs through November 2021 and is valued at $24.8 million. The task order addresses concerns raised by the U.S. Government Accountability Office over “ambiguous policies and inconsistent processes” that may pose risks for Veterans’ health care. VHA’s efforts will help VA medical facilities implement national policies more uniformly across the country.

Aptive HTG will support these efforts by documenting and managing the policy development and review process; sustaining VHA program office and medical center business rules through systemic change management; supporting health care system redesign and process improvement; conducting and evaluating training on newly published policy; and assessing health care and records management business practices.

Currently, VHA staff cannot quickly and easily locate the most up-to-date policy guidance, putting them at risk of using outdated or incomplete information. As VHA updates national policies and develops new policies related to VA’s modernization efforts, an enhanced records information management system will allow consistent policy implementation across the VHA health system.

“The policy and system changes and improvements we are supporting will help safeguard access to care for Veterans nationwide, as well as the quality of the care they receive,” said Nashira Nicholson, Aptive’s Vice President of Health Services. “Whether we are working at the national level or in the field, we are all committed to delivering improvements that provide Veterans with the best health care possible.”

The VHA Policy Transformation task order falls under the Integrated Healthcare Transformation (IHT) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. Under this IDIQ, Aptive HTG and IHT partners support VHA across a variety of areas as needs arise, including health care modernization and transformation, financial management business transformation, analytics and mental health and suicide prevention.

Aptive HTG is a joint venture between Aptive Resources and Enterprise Resource Performance (ERPi) Inc. Aptive HTG’s solutions integrate technology, people and processes into an efficient, secure, scalable operation for better health care and outcomes.
