Ralph Wallace Named Chairman of Newly Founded US IPv6 Council

The U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has awarded Aptive a five-year contract to recruit skilled engineers for the Office of Pipeline Safety. The blanket purchase agreement is valued at $4 million.
The Office of Pipeline Safety (OPS) runs a national program to ensure the safe, reliable and environmentally-sound operation of the nation’s natural gas and hazardous liquid pipeline transportation system. OPS also directs education and outreach efforts to encourage state and local governments, pipeline operators and the general public to adopt and use safety programs and activities.
To fulfill its mission, OPS must continue to attract highly qualified engineers who are committed to public service and can adapt to changing and complex technical environments. Recruitment challenges include lower salaries than the private sector for hard-science engineers, frequent travel and a lengthy on-the-job training period.
