Aptive HTG Supports VA Office of Community Care Through New Contract

Posted on 10.28.21

Aptive HTG received a two-year contract from the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) to support the Office of Community Care in delivering community care and MISSION Act requirements. Through this project, Aptive HTG will evaluate access standards, update triennial reports on access standards and provide facilitation and administrative support.

A key component of VHA’s health care delivery is for Veterans to use the health care available in their communities-especially for emergency situations, when there aren’t specialists available at their local VA medical center, or when they live in rural areas and don’t have close access to VA health care services. The Community Care program has expanded to further improve access to health care, assuring a critical component of excellent health care services to Veterans. In this endeavor, VHA is considered both a provider of health care services as well as the primary coordinator of benefits.

To address new community care requirements of the MISSION Act, Aptive HTG will support VA as it establishes, reviews and updates access and quality standards based upon industry best practices in both commercial and federal agencies.

“The MISSION Act, and its predecessor, VA’s Choice Act, represent perhaps the greatest shift in Veteran health care since the Department itself was established in 1989. These changes were driven, primarily, by a demand for greater Veteran access to quality care,” said Nashira Nicholson, Aptive Vice President for Health Services. “Ensuring that VHA’s existing access and quality standards remain best-in-class throughout the health care industry is of paramount importance to meeting that demand.”

This task order falls within the Integrated Healthcare Transformation (IHT) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. Under this IDIQ, Aptive HTG and IHT partners support VHA across a variety of areas as needs arise, including health care modernization and transformation, financial management business transformation, analytics and mental health and suicide prevention.

Aptive HTG is a joint venture between Aptive Resources and Enterprise Resource Performance (ERPi) Inc. Aptive HTG’s solutions integrate people, policies, processes and technology into an efficient, secure, scalable operation for better health care and outcomes.
