Aptive received a contract to support the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Dental Pilot Program authorized by the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act.

The two-year pilot will operate across VISN 01 (New England) and VISN 15 (Midwest), covering multiple VA Medical Centers and clinics. The program is designed to strengthen oversight of community care dental services by hiring dentists, a dental specialist and support staff to review and validate an estimated 8,750 treatment plans annually. A dedicated team will oversee compliance, reporting and stakeholder engagement, including congressional reporting, ensuring the program’s accountability and success.

Through this effort, Aptive will help ensure treatment plans meet VA standards, streamline communication among VA dentists and community providers and improve the efficiency and quality of dental care delivered to Veterans.

“This program represents an important step in advancing Veteran oral health care,” said Tammy Czarnecki, Executive Vice President of Veteran Health at Aptive. “We are proud to partner with VA to provide the expertise, oversight and coordination needed to ensure Veterans receive safe, appropriate and timely dental care.”
