HS – Health Systems Transformation

Our staff of over 100 professionals supports a wide range of national modernization and change-related activities within the nation’s largest integrated health care system (over 1,200 locations and 9 million Veteran patients), including program management and implementation, evaluation, change management and operational performance improvement services. We help VA implement strategic priorities, new and emerging legislative requirements, virtual care expansion and electronic health record modernization.

Through national improvement initiatives, we help VA better provide Veterans with personalized, proactive, patient-driven health care. We apply our skills to develop, test, implement and evaluate programs to standardize and optimize clinical and administrative operations at 140 health care systems; enhance the timeliness and transparency of care scheduling and coordination; implement programs to deliver value-based care; design and develop training to educate VA staff on the fundamentals of access and clinic practice management; drive integration for seamless access to care, whether through VA facilities or in partnership with community providers; and empower Veterans with data to make the best personal health care decisions.

We support the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery’s mission to ensure safe patient- and family-centered care delivery by providing clinical operations support, program evaluation, policy analysis, HRO implementation, continuous process improvement, health professional education, data analytics, knowledge management and communications.

With a team of nearly 90 professionals, we manage VHA’s ongoing transformation to become the largest health care HRO in the United States. We support national governance functions, manage communications, infuse change management techniques, perform on-site and virtual assessments at over 140 facilities and provide training and support to over 250,000 professionals. Following a detailed analysis of outcomes, we develop and support implementation efforts to hardwire HRO best practices across the enterprise.

The VA Health Care Engineering and Facilities Program maintains and ensures all VA facilities are functioning properly. The Aptive team enables and supports virtually every aspect of Veteran patient care by providing project management support to VA’s engineering and facilities programs, including energy, facilities infrastructure, vehicle fleet, equipment and asset, and space management programs. We have completed evaluations for compliance with National Fire Protection Association and Joint Commission requirements and engineering best practices. We also developed a SharePoint site to receive, assign, track and manage requests from facilities to complete design review requests.
