Effective training is based on identifying the right learning objectives, most often identified through a needs assessment. Our needs assessment solutions are designed to address specific health education issues and help organizations better respond to identified needs. Using a best practice framework for conducting high quality needs assessments, our approach combines data from multiple sources to assess both existing assets and current needs. Services are tailored to specific client needs and may include survey development, administration, analysis, interview and focus groups, data presentations and action planning.

Leadership development matters because leader actions and attitudes drive performance in several ways: they improve employee engagement, enhance productivity and cultivate an innovative and inclusive business culture. Aptive’s leadership training and coaching services deploy a full spectrum of solutions to help health care organizations shape the leaders they need and drive business growth. Whether it’s in the design of a patient satisfaction survey, or strengthening a health care system, our goal is to build the technical and organizational capacity of organizations at the national, state and community levels. Through participatory processes with local stakeholders leveraging best practices in organization capacity assessment and building, we develop and tailor context-specific tools and processes to successfully transfer knowledge, measure performance and strengthen capacity. Related services include developing performance management frameworks, standardized tools, technical assistance and data quality assessments to review the effectiveness of reporting systems and data quality and integrity.

We work with federal program offices, field support leaders, health care facility staff and grantees to design and implement end-to-end technical assistance programs. We use implementation science principles, industry expertise and Prosci change management methodologies to assess the current situation, set targets and provide tailored support to help clients achieve organizational or initiative objectives.

Our Prosci-certified experts deliver change management training and provide VA with training feedback data, coordination, coaching and graphic design. We use evidence-based instructional design models to develop training protocols and materials for greater engagement and adoption of Prosci change management principles by VA staff.

Care Coordination and Integrated Case Management (CC&ICM)

Care Coordination and Integrated Case Management (CC&ICM)

We support the VA Office of Nursing Services leaders as they provide expertise, guidance and knowledge of nursing standards and practice and care coordination processes to VA nurses. We also support development of a CC&ICM guidebook, which provides standardized processes and templates of the CC&ICM framework across VA to promote improved health outcomes and patient experiences.

National Health Care Leadership Training

National Health Care Leadership Training

Our diverse and experienced faculty proctor a three-month online course for up to 400 aspiring leaders annually. Through VASP (now known as Supervisor Ready), we provide extensive training through live classroom sessions and one-on-one mentoring in a variety of leadership skills including ethics, political savvy, effective communication, conflict resolution, strategic thinking, high reliability, emotional intelligence, root cause analysis and resiliency. In addition to preparing 480 hours of instructional content, we designed and implemented a new online portal to streamline all course communication, administration and evaluation.
