Aptive HTG Awarded $2.35M Contract to Support Veterans Health Administration’s Chaplain Integrated Spiritual Care Model Initiative

Posted on 10.15.24

Aptive HTG received a three-year, $2.35 million contract from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to support the Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) Chaplain Integrated Spiritual Care Model (CISCM). This initiative aims to transform the way spiritual care is integrated into the health care services provided to Veterans, ensuring a holistic approach that addresses both physical and spiritual needs.

As the largest integrated health care system in the U.S., VHA serves 8.76 million Veterans annually, presenting a range of complex health care needs. Spiritual care (SC) is a critical dimension of health for many Veterans, and the CISCM initiative seeks to strengthen SC by standardizing processes, improving access and aligning care delivery with evidence-based practices.

Under this contract, Aptive HTG and partners will provide professional support services, including project management, Lean Six Sigma methodologies and change management. The contract’s scope includes managing seven field-led rapid process improvement workgroups focused on key areas such as screening and identifying Veterans for SC, developing system-wide standards and enhancing chaplain staff capabilities through improved training.

The goal is to reduce fragmentation and duplication of spiritual care services across the VHA system, ultimately improving operational efficiency and Veterans’ health outcomes.

This task order falls within the Integrated Healthcare Transformation Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. Under this IDIQ, Aptive HTG and partners support VHA across a variety of areas as needs arise, including health care modernization and transformation, financial management business transformation, analytics and mental health and suicide prevention.

Aptive HTG is a joint venture between Aptive Resources and ECS, formerly ERPi. Aptive HTG’s solutions integrate people, policies, processes and technology into an efficient, secure, scalable operation for better health care and outcomes.
