STATEMENT OF RESEARCH

A study participant must give informed consent to such participation. This consent is based on an understanding of the nature and risks of the study. This document provides information that is important for this understanding. This study includes only participants who choose to take part. If you have questions at any time, please contact the investigator.

 

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY?

You are invited to participate in a study about perceptions and awareness related to Veteran benefits. The study will assess factors that impact perception and awareness of various benefits available to Veterans.

 

This study may identify trends of successful awareness and outreach related to Veteran benefits. The findings may also indicate gaps in practices, areas for improvement or new methods for consideration.

 

HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL PARTICIPATE?

Approximately 500 participants from across the United States will be asked to take part in this study by competing an online survey.

 

HOW LONG DOES THE SURVEY TAKE?

Participation in this study requires approximately 10-20 minutes to complete an online survey.

 

WHAT WILL HAPPEN DURING THIS STUDY?

You will answer a series of questions related to Veteran benefits. There are some questions that ask you to rank something on a scale, some questions that ask for a yes or no answer and some optional questions for you to compose a response. You will be free to discontinue participation in the survey at any time without penalty.

 

WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF THE STUDY?

There are minimal potential risks to participating in this study. For example, participants may become embarrassed or uncomfortable with the survey questions. Participants may discontinue their survey response at any time without penalty. There are no treatments available through this study in the event of an injury or discomfort. You will have the right to withdraw at any time throughout the process without penalty.

 

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THIS STUDY?

There are few direct benefits of this study. Participation may raise your awareness of various Veteran benefits.

 

WILL IT COST ME ANYTHING TO BE IN THIS STUDY?

There is no cost to be in this study.

 

WILL I BE PAID FOR PARTICIPATING?

Yes, you will receive $100.00 for completing the survey.

 

WHO IS FUNDING THE STUDY?

Members of the Aptive Veteran Barometer research team are conducting this study. They are receiving no payments from government agencies, clients or companies to conduct this study.

 

CONFIDENTIALITY

Names are collected during this survey in order to pay participants. The records of this study will be kept confidential to the extent allowed by law. In any report about this study that might be published, you will not be identified.

 

Any information that can be identified with you will remain confidential and will only be disclosed as required by law. Confidentiality will be maintained by means of keeping data in encrypted computer file. If the study team writes a report or article about this study, you will not be identifiable.

 

IS THIS STUDY VOLUNTARY?

Your participation is voluntary. You may choose not to participate, or you may discontinue your participation at any time without penalty. Your decision whether or not to participate will not affect your current or future relations with Aptive.
